    Question

How do I enable users to email catalog records from Webvoyage?

    Answer

    1. Navigate to /m1/voyager/xxxdb/tomcat/vwebv/context/vwebv/ui/<skin> and open webvoyage.properties.
    2. Find the stanza "Option to enable email functionality" and set option.email=Y.
    3. Set the value for "mail.host" to localhost1, unless another server will be used to send email from WebVoyage2,3.
    4. Save the file.

1 If an smtp server other than the voyager server is used, the server used must not require authentication to relay mail from webvoyage.

2 For versions 9.1.0 and over, set the mail.from= stanza to a valid email address.

3 Setting the mail.from= stanza to a valid email address may not function properly if certain conditions are not met at the customer's mail server, or if it is Google or Office365 ("Office 365"). Consider leaving this line commented out if you experience issues after configuring it.

    Additional Information

If email is not properly configured, users may see an error message "Your E-mail Request Failed!" when attempting to email the record.
