How do we set Voyager to stop applying Lost Item Replacement Fees?

    • Product: Voyager
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Question

How to configure Voyager to no longer have Lost Item Replacement Fees?

    Answer

There is no option to have no Lost Interval in Voyager. Support's recommendation is to set the Lost Interval value out as far as possible (i.e., "999")  if you don't wish to have items designated lost by the system.

    Example:

In System Administration > Circulation > Policy Definitions > [policy] > Matrix

Find applicable patron group/item type combination(s)
Update value for Lost Interval to 999 days

    Additional Information

With the Lost Interval value set to 0, patron will be assessed a lost item fine as soon as the book becomes Overdue.

The Lost Item Replacement fee comes either from the Price field on the Item record or (if there isn't one listed there) from SysAdmin > Circ > Circ Policy Definitions > select circ group > Item > select item type > Cost.
