Expected results:
Short loan counters should not be negative numbers.

Actual results:
Customer sites have a recurring problem where the CURRENT_SHORT_LOANS counter has negative values.

Workflow implications: Patrons with negative counters cannot be deleted.

Replication steps:
In the customer database, run the following query:
select patron_id, current_short_loans, unclaimed_short_loans from patron where current_short_loans < 0;

Other information: Support cannot replicate this behavior, but it continually happens at the customer site where this is reported.

Resolution:
Fixed in Voyager 8.1.1, due out Q1 2012.
