OPACJOB - Bib Usage Log recording "G" client type

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.0.4

    Description:
    Bug Report for Issue 16384-10321
    Module(s): Opacjob
Server platform(s) affected: Tested on Solaris
    PC OS (if applicable): N/A
Browser & version (if applicable): N/A

    Release(s) replicated in: 7.2.1, 7.0.4, 7.0.1
Last version without bug (if applicable): 6.5.4

    Expected results:
The client type used in the bib usage log should match one of the values in table 15-2 of the Technical Manual.

    Actual results:
The client type used in the bib usage log for the OPAC is being recorded as “G” instead of “W”

Workflow implications: Customers may not be able to identify when a bib is being accessed by WebVoy?ge.

    Replication steps:
    1. Load /m1/voyager/xxxdb/ini/voyager.ini and set LOGBIBUSAGE=Y
    2. Load the Cataloging client, pull up any record, and save it to the database
    3. Load WebVoy?ge, and browse to the same record
    4. Run Popacjob –j3 on the server, and use “today” as the parameter
    5. Check the contents of bibuselgexport.dat. It should show an entry for Cataloging, and an entry for WebVoy?ge. The WebVoy?ge entry will show “G” for the client type
