    Problem Symptoms

    • Operator is using a Cataloging security profile with locations belonging only to one owning library.
    • Operator is able to alter bib records attached to an owning library with locations not defined in the operators security profile.

    Cause

In Cataloging > Security > Operator Profiles > Profile Values Cont. tab. The checkbox for "Allow Bibliographic Ownership Change" is selected.

    Resolution

De-select the checkbox for "Allow Bibliographic Ownership Change"

    Additional Information

In addition to allowing the operator associated with a profile to change the owning library of a bib record, this checkbox also allows the operator to change any bib, since the ability to change the owning library already effectively grants this ability.
