    Symptoms

Subfield code in bibliographic record is NOT input immediately following the delimiter for the subfield (space between code & delimiter); subfield disappears

No data in the subfield is indexed in any heading or left-anchored index and all the words do not appear in the keyword indexes.

    Defect Status

Issue 14874 / VYG-4276 is resolved in Voyager 9.0.0 and higher.

    Replication Steps

    1. Create a 245 with subfield a ($a subfielda)
    2. Add a subfield b but add a space between the delimiter and the subfield b ($ b subfieldb)
    3. Save the record to the db.
    4. Keyword search for subfielda
    5. Record found
    6. Keyword search for subfieldb
    7. Record NOT found
    8. Delete space between the delimiter and the subfield b and resave record to db
    9. Keyword search for subfieldb
    10. Record found

    Workaround

Remove extra space between delimiter and the subfield and resave record to the db.
