This field is too small...” when importing Loansome Doc requests

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 6.6.0

    Problem Symptoms:
?After Docline 4.9 upgrade, Voyager ILL gives message "Microsoft Access: This field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add? when importing Docline Loansome Doc requests
? The Borrower field is left blank, or the system inserts the LD prefix followed by part of an email address or domain name as in ?LD-xxx.edu.?

    Cause:
This behavior is the result of Known Issue 16384-21201.

    Resolution:
Issue 16384-21201 is currently in Development.

    Additional Information

ILL Request puts LD in the Borrower code field, and follows it (or used to) with the patron ID number in Docline, e.g. " LD-000000". Now, ILL still inserts the LD- but the information coming from Docline is no longer the Docline patron ID number. Instead, it may include part of an email address or a domain name resulting in Borrower field with "LD-edu or LD-xxx.edu, or an empty field. An empty Borrower field causes the left hand list of options in ILL Management -> Lending -> Update Lending Requests to not appear as needed.
