    • Product Version: 7.0.1

    Problem Symptoms

    • Sometimes see duplicate renewal requests for patrons - same timestamp on transaction in database
    • If fines levied on renewal, fines are duplicated too

    Defect Status

Issue VYG-5460 is resolved for Voyager 9.1.0 and higher.

    Replication steps

    1. Charge a renewable item to a patron in Circulation.
    2. In the database, check CIRC_TRANSACTIONS.RENEWAL_COUNT and note the value.
    3. Log into WebVoyage as the patron.
    4. Under Charged Items, check the box for the item, and check the box for Select All. (In Classic WebVoyage, the equivalent is checking the box for the item and choosing "Renew all items from {library}" from the drop-down.)
    5. Click Request Renewal.
    6. Item will be renewed twice: 2 renewals written to RENEW_TRANSACTIONS table with identical timestamp, and CIRC_TRANSACTIONS.RENEWAL_COUNT incremented by 2

    Workaround

Patrons should select either individual items or Select All when renewing via WebVoyage.
