    INVALID RECORD DATA!
Attempt to update existing barcode with blank Barcode having same
Patron group and s ame barcode status: Patron Group: XYZ
This barcode has NOT been updated! Barcode Status: 5
    Record written to exception file.

    Answer

The patron barcodes are updated based on matching a combination of patron barcode and patron group. If the patron group and status are the same, but the barcode in the incoming field is blank, the system does not update the barcode.
