    Bib record with diacritics not retrievable by title

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

    We are unable to search for a particular bib record (014030881) by title.  The record contains various special characters/diacritics.

    Resolution

    The following SQL shows all of the ACC Browse index (z01) entries for this bib record:

    xxx01@ALEPH0> select z01_rec_key from z01, z02 where z01_acc_sequence = substr (z02_rec_key,1,9) and Z02_DOC_NUMBER = '014030881';

    Try retrieving the record by the title index codes (TTL, TIx, TTLx, TIxx, etc.) shown in the results.  If the z01_rec_key is incorrect, then take the filing procedure (specified in column 5 of the relevant xxx01 tab00.lng entries) and examine the xxx01 tab_filing table lines for this filing procedure.  Noting in particular any

    11 N char_conv            FILING-KEY-nn

    lines.

    The tab_filing header has the following info for char_conv:

    ! - char_conv: perform character conversion procedure according
    !              to the procedure name listed in col.4. This name must
    !              match procedure identification in col.1 of
    !              /alephe/unicode/tab_character_conversion_line

    For example, if tab_filing col. 4 has  "FILING-KEY-10", then the relevant line in tab_character_conversion_line is "FILING-KEY-10".
