Sort of Brief list Results not working

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
Several staff have reported that sorting of results are not working. Examples:

    Keyword search WSU=law AND WSU=economics AND WSU=history
8 hits. Not sorted by date.
Tried to sort by Author - no success, tried to sort by title- no success
When I attempt to sort, the list rearranges but in random order.

    Keyword search WTI=contracts AND WAU=Waddams
10 hits. Not sorted by date.
Tried to sort by author - success, tried to sort by title- no success.

Keyword search WSU=Law AND WSU=Study and teaching AND WSU=Canada
90 hits. A subset of 42 is sorted by date descending. The remaining 48
records are not sorted and appear after the sorted list. Items in the
unsorted list may be earlier, later or the same as sorted items.
Tried to sort by Author - first 42 sorted, remaining items unsorted.
Tried to sort by Title - first 42 sorted, remaining items unsorted.
I repeated the last sorts - first 42 sorted HOWEVER not necessarily the
    same 42 as previously.

    Resolution:
Most of the records lacked Z101 (sort index) records. (Each doc record should have 3-6 Z101 records, depending on what is in tab_sort. The doc number is the first 9 bytes of the z101_rec_key.)

Running p_manage_27 to rebuild the Z101 corrected the problem.
