Question

I export a report from Alma Analytics to Excel in csv format. It contains system numbers (MMS IDs) with 16 digits. The IDs are automatically rounded, meaning the last digit becomes a 0. Why is that happening? I need my system numbers unchanged.

This is not an Alma problem.
Excel cannot handle numbers with more than 15 digits. (See Microsoft Knowledge Base, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-excel/when-i-am-entering-16-digit-number-in-excel-its/7f50828d-77b4-4ad2-8ea7-0411d0236bd0?auth=1)
The solution is to import this column in Excel in "Text" format instead of "General" or "Number" format.
