    Question

Some Holding records have 852 field with no value in subfield $$i, how to populate this subfield? For example, all the Call Number may be stored in $$h due to migration scripts).
How to fix the 852 field?

    Answer

Test the "Call Number Mapping" setup by editing the Holding record the Metadata Editor. Click: Tools > MARC21 Holdings > Update from Bibliographic (Alt+U). The holding record call number information should be copied from the bib. If not, please consult Online Help regarding "Call Number Mapping".

If the update works as expected, it is possible to fix the records in batch:

    1. Create a set (e.g. Physical Items, or Physical Titles)

    2. Run a Job > Information Update > Change Holding Information > Pick a set (e.g. Physical Items, or Physical Titles) > Click: Update call number from Bibliographic record.

    Additional Information

Online Help regarding 'Change Holding Information' exists at: "Running Manual Jobs on Defined Sets".

Consult also "Mapping Call Numbers to Holdings" for explanation about the "Call Number Mapping" setup.
