Request rules go to default even though rules exist for user group

    • Product: Alma
    • Product Version: Feb 2018 Release

    Description

For GENERAL Fulfillment Unit Name.   for our undergraduate, graduate, faculty none of them are able to request books from another library campus.

The request rules seem to go to default even though rules exist for these user groups in request.

We tried deleting process type and re-adding it and it worked for a second, but now it's back to default request rules...

    Resolution

If you select "No Requesting" for the fulfillment unit on shelf policy, that means that the library wants the items of this fulfillment unit to be picked up from the shelf by the patrons. Therefore, the "No requesting" policy will also affect items from other fulfillment units.

If you wish to allow requests only for other fullfilment units, you may select the "No Requesting from available holding" policy.

The Fulfillment Configuration Utility shows the TOU of a specific item for a specific user. When using it, we have to bear in mind that the fulfillment unit on shelf policy might also affect the requestability. So if you find that the cause is not in the TOU, then other configurations should be checked.
