CDI Content Updates

Week 52 - December 26

We have ingested new data from IBISWorld into CDI. To discover this new content we recommend activating the collection IBISWorld (Alma ID: 6113915960000041, DBID:6EY). For more information, please read the short article about it here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/...ew_feed_in_CDI

Week 51 - December 19

We have encountered an issue with the direct links in ASTM content and most of them are not working. We are working with the provider to fix the links. Meanwhile, we have changed the links so they will query the Standard number in ASTM platform. For example: https://go.exlibris.link/j0JnGzNH

Week 50 - December 12

176 databases were updated to have accurate Descriptive CDI fields. The Databases are all of type Full Text collection, and will work with Link in record. For the full list please see in the attached file.

Week 48 - November 28

Scholars Portal collections in the attached were updated with accurate CDI fields. For the full list that were affected by this change, please see the following spreadsheet - ScholarsPortal_updated.xlsx

Week 45 - November 7

Springer Journals feed was refreshed by the provider, and is now full and Up to date.

Week 44 - October 31

New collections of Wiso were ingested to CDI, as detailed in the "New Electronic Collections" section of this week release notes below. Please note that search rights of these collections are "Subscription", meaning that the collections need to be activated in Alma in order to be searchable. Please also note that while the activation of these collection can be selective and based on titles, to ensure the best linking experience these collections will have "Link in record" linking. Week 39 - September 26

As explained in detail in the article Hybrid Collections in CDI, we have updated 101 ProQuest collections to work with Hybrid linking. The full list listed in the article.
Linking in these collections will work with Link resolver OR link in record, depends on the CDI record's content and metadata. We recommend reading the article or watch the Webinar for more background and explanations.
Collection Archives Unbound (6113918200000041) is now working with direct links to the platform main page. We are working with Gale to load article level records to this collection and improve the linking, and we will update when this feed is refreshed and more accurate links are provided.

Week 34 - August 22

Since in many cases, "Accessible Archives" portfolios and targets from Alma and SFX do not have identifiers, the link resolver is not able to do a title match and no full-text is displayed in Primo. Therefore, we have changed 15 Accessible Archives collections to use link in record for linking. By doing this, the full-text links won't depend on title-match, and as a result, direct links to the full-text on the Accessible Archives platform will be offered. For the full list of the 15 collections that were affected by this change, please see the "Electronic Collection Updates" table below.

Week 27 - July 4

Several changes were done in Swepub collections: Changed to A&I collections, improved the Open access indication and removed unnecessary collections from the KB. please see full details here

New article was published to explain how ERIC content is represented in the KB for CDI users. please see here. The main Eric collection (Collection ID 6122459500000041) is functioning now as hybrid collection, means there is no need to activate the Full Text collection in addition to this one. The "Hybrid" indication on the Alma collection will be added later this year.
In March of this year, the collection ArtikelSök was changed to type A&I and Linking: Link Resolver.. We noticed that after the change, some users experienced cases of "False-Positive", means: Record appeared as Full text available but when trying to use the link no services appeared. This is being fixed in this Alma release. Another solution for this can be activating the collection ArtikelSök (Full Text for Discovery) in addition to the A&I collection. This will ensure you see direct links to ArtikelSök when they have the full text.

Week 22 - May 30

As announced on previous release notes, we have changed the linking method of 229 ProQuest Newspapers collections to Link in Record. Primo clients are not required to do any change in their current activations to discover the direct links of ProQuest.

Week 21 - May 23

We have received many justified complaints from Primo clients where several of our ProQuest Central (Alma Collection ID: 613790000000000466, DBID: BENPR) subscribers are running into a known issue where results appear as Full Text available, but no link appears. To resolve this issue, we are introducing hybrid linking to ProQuest Central in Alma. Currently, hybrid linking is available for dissertations only, but will be implemented for other content types over the next few weeks. We have received many justified complaints from Primo clients on linking issues with ProQuest newspapers collections which use linkresolver for linking. Since in many cases the portfolios and targets from Alma and SFX do not have identifiers, the link resolver fails to do a title match and no full-text is displayed in Primo. Therefore, we are planning to change 229 ProQuest newspapers collections to use link in record for linking. By doing this, the full-text links won't depend on title-match, and as a result, direct links to the full-text on the ProQuest platform will be offered.
This change will take effect next week, and another release note will be published once the process will be completed.

Week 17 - April 25

Sabinet content in CDI was refreshed and is now richer both in the amount of records and the quality of the metadata. The new content is discoverable via the existing Sabinet collections, so clients do not require to activate any new collections from Sabinet.

Week 14 - April 4

Hathitrust content content in CDI is now available only to institutions who deliberately activated this collection. This change was done since Hathitrust is a collaboration of many institutions, it's content is of various types and in varies quality. The collection is still in CDI with direct links, and customers who activated this content will see it's content as before the change

Week 13 - March 28

We have released new collection into CDI, "Gale In Context: College" (Alma collection ID: 615280000000001135). Please note that the linking for this collection require from Primo clients to use the special linking template of Gale. Week 11 - March 14

Wikipedia's content (Alma Collection ID: 6114026080000041) is not in CDI as any other package, but available only through Summon Topics or Primo Highlighted reference entries. The collection is available in CDI only through the "Highlight reference entry on top" option, configurable in Primo or Primo VE. Week 9 - February 28

As of March 7th, 2021, Toyo Keizai Tokei Geppo (Statistics Monthly) (統計月報), (DBID AHDUU, Alma Collection ID: 6114004300000041 , SFX Target Name: TOYO_KEIZAI_TOKEI_GEPPO_STATISTICS_MONTHLY) will be switching from Linkresolver to a special linking template in Primo. Documentation in Special links configuration in CDI for Primo and Primo VE will be updated accordingly. Linking template remains as is in Summon.

Week 8 - February 21

Web of Science (Alma Collection ID: 6113929880000041) is now available in CDI as an Abstracts and Indexes (A&I) database. This collection contains all Web of Science A&I content and includes all the yearly collections' records.

Week 7 - February 14

For esp@cenet (Alma Collection ID: 6114024340000041) we will change the settings so that the collection is flagged as “fulltext available” and therefore will return results as in the first search, flagged as “fulltext available”, using the link in record. We found in our tests that the majority of this content seems to be available in fulltext so we consider this the best solution (within the currently available options) to ensure that the content is discoverable by your users. We must note though that this means that while the results for those fulltext records will be favorable, there will be other results that link to the abstracts only. Or in other words this will create some false positives.
