    Symptoms

Our links with EBSCOhost SIDs are failing. Why?

    Cause

EBSCOhost has been putting the full author name in the aulast parameter, like so:

    aulast.PNG

Parsers and linkers expect only the last name in the aulast parameter or a full author name in the au parameter, so outbound linking fails. When manually corrected to contain only the author's last name in the aulast parameter, the article links successfully.

    Resolution

This is an issue that must be corrected on EBSCOhost's end. We are happy to forward these linking cases to provider relations, but customer feedback is also encouraged.

    Additional Information

Why do I get an error page when linking out to EBSCO databases?
