    Question

How to place new MARC field created in Global Data Change (GDC) in the proper record's proper tag order, and not at the end of the record.

    Answer

For Voyager versions 9.2 and later, use the GDC "Field Order Configuration" option described in Chapter 5 of the Global Data Change User's Guide.

You will also need to configure "MARC Field Ordering Rules" as per the System Administration User's Guide (Chapter 4).

    Additional Information

Voyager 9.2 introduced MARC Field Ordering for both Global Data Change and the Cataloging Client.

For Voyager versions prior to 9.2, see also: Add MARC Field appends new fields to end of record, regardless of tag
