Cannot edit conditions created in previous versions in GDC

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.2

    Description:
    Bug Report Form, 16384-19553

    Date: 7 September 2012
    Module(s): Global Data Change (GDC)
    Release(s) replicated in: 8.1.2
Last version without bug (if applicable): 8.1.1

Expected results: To be able to edit rule sets in GDC

Actual results: When you open a rule set created in a previous version and attempt to edit the Condition, receive run-time errors and client closes. Or, some drop-down options are not available that should be.

This is true for both data change and scan rule sets.

Workflow implications: Operators cannot use previously created rule sets, and must recreate them without being able to open the older rule set conditions.

    Replication steps:
In GDC > Rules > Data Change Rule Sets / Scan Rule Sets, choose a rule set created in a previous version and click “Edit”
Highlight a Rule Name in the set and click Edit.
Highlight a condition in the Rule and click Edit.
    Receive run-time errors:
“Run-time error ‘380’: Invalid property value” – click OK.
“Run-time error ‘97’: Can not call friend function on object which is not an instance of defining class.”
    Click OK. GDC closes.

If you create a new rule, you can edit the condition without issue after saving it.

    Resolution:
A fix is available for this issue in Voyager 8.1.2.

If you believe you are experiencing this issue in Voyager 8.1.2, please open an incident with Voyager Support via eService and request the fix for Issue 16384-19553.
