    Desired Outcome Goal:
    Configure Voyager to make a particular field or subfield mandatory when creating or modifying records in Cataloging.

    Procedure:
    To make a field mandatory:
    1. On the client PC open the ..\Voyager\Catalog\TagTable\ directory.
    2. Open the directory applicable to the standard being used(i.e. MARC21, OCLC, or RLIN).
    3. Open Master.cfg.
    4. Locate the mandatory field stanza for the record type for which field is to be made mandatory (e.g. "[Mandatory Bibliographic Fields]"
    5. Add an entry for the field to be made mandatory beginning with the next ordinal number followed by an equals sign.
    Example if making the 082 mandatory:
    [Mandatory Bibliographic Fields]
    0=245
    1=082
    5. Save Master.cfg

    To make a sub-field mandatory:
    1. On the client PC open the ..\Voyager\Catalog\TagTable\ directory.
    2. Open the directory applicable to the standard being used(i.e. MARC21, OCLC, or RLIN).
    3. Open the tag table that applies to the field which contains the subfield you wish to make mandatory. ( e.g. To make 245 $c mandatory in MARC bib records the correct file is Bmarc2XX.cfg)
    4. Locate the stanza for the field containing the subfield to be made mandatory.
    5. Set the last character of the line for the subfield being made mandatory to 'M'.
    Example if making the 245 $c mandatory:
    [245]
    0=a 0M
    1=b 0A
    2=c 0M
    3=f 0A
    4=g 0A
    5=h 0A
    6=k 1A
    7=n 1A
    8=p 1A
    9=s 0A
    10=6 0A
    11=8 1A
