Indicator values blank for Primo Browse tags included in extracted records

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: All
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Question

The indicators of 1xx, 6xx, and 7xx fields added to extracted records for Primo Browse tags are all set as blank regardless of their original values in the 4xx fields.

    What is the rationale?

    Answer

Primo does not need to receive data specifically in MARC format - the requirement is for Primo to receive the data represented by those values.

For subject headings, the 2nd indicator indicates the heading type. Instead of supplying this as an indicator value - some of which also require further data from a

subfield 2 - the indicator value is converted to a subfield 2 (except where it's 4 or 7, and then the existing subfield 2 is retained).
