How to set the patron services initial screen "ID" choice

Desired Outcome Goal:
The Username from LDAP shows in the Primary ID field. When Circ Desk staff use Patron Services, in the initial screen after retrieving a patron record, the ID reflects the Primary ID field. How can the ID field be changed to display the University ID number?
Procedure:
To choose which user identifier shows as "ID", perform the following steps:
1. Go to Menu > Administration > User Management > Configuration Menu > Other Settings
2. Customize the preferred_identifier parameter, filling the identifier code in the value field
3. Save
