Republishing Sets of Bibliographic Records
This article is not relevant to Primo VE customers. For Primo VE environments, bibliographic records are indexed automatically when they are added or modified. Please open a Support case if you need to re-index records that have not been modified.
When publishing updates to Primo, the Publish bibliographic records to Primo publishing profile includes modified, new, and deleted records so that Primo can display records and their availability accurately. In some cases, it may be necessary to re-publish records that have not been modified so that they can be re-indexed in Primo. To mark unchanged records for republishing, you can create a set of records and then mark them for republishing by running the Republish a set of Bibliographic records to Primo job. These records are then published the next time that your regularly-scheduled publishing profile is executed.
The set of records must contain either MARC records (any combination of MARC 21, UNIMARC, KORMARC, ...) or Dublin Core records, not a mixture of both. To ensure that this is the case, when creating the record set, use an advanced search and select Record format as a search parameter. For more information, see Search Field Descriptions.
For collaborative networks that are using centralized publishing, you can republish sets of records from the Network Zone. For more information, see Republishing Sets of Bibliographic Records from the Network Zone.
To republish a set of records:
- Create a set of records that you want to republish to Primo.
- Run the Republish a set of Bibliographic records to Primo job. For more information, see Running Manual Jobs on Defined Sets.
- Run the Publish bibliographic records to Primo publishing profile. Note that this job is typically scheduled to run hourly or daily. For more details, see Exporting Alma Records to Primo.
