360 Counter and Intota: Data Retrieval Service (DRS) and Providers Requiring Two-Factor Authentication

    • Product: 360 Counter

I want the Data Retrieval Service (DRS) to download usage reports from a provider whose administrative site requires two-factor authentication, what are my options?

May 18, 2017 Update: Added Canadian Science Publishing.
A number of providers have implemented two-factor authentication in order to download COUNTER reports from their platforms. We have encountered mobile two-factor authentication when trying to access some COUNTER reports. That is, the platform asks for a mobile phone number in order to send a text message with a temporary key or code that the user has to input in order to access reports.

ProQuest cannot provide Administration-Based Harvesting for providers that have implemented two-factor authentication because the mobile phone number is unique to the user account, and we cannot retrieve the key or code that the provider sends.
    • For an overview of Administration-Based Harvesting, Intota users click here; Client Center users click here.

The list of providers using two-factor authentication includes:
    • Alliance for Children and Families
    • American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
    • American Association of Neurological Surgeons
    • American Economic Association
    • American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
    • American Marketing Association
    • American Meteorological Society
    • American Pharmacists Association
    • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
    • American Phytopathological Society

    • BioOne
    • British Institute of Radiology
    • Canadian Science Publishing
    • Center of Alcohol Studies, Rutgers University
    • Earthquake Engineering Research Institute
    • Emerald
    • Guilford Publications

    • Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
    • University of Chicago Press
    • Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht

These providers' Data Retrieval Service (DRS) forms are now disabled in Intota and 360 Counter, and are not eligible for Administration-Based Harvesting.

    Option 1:

Retrieve your reports from the provider and upload to Intota, or if you use the Client Center, upload to Client Center.

    Option 2:

Configure SUSHI harvesting for the provider, if the provider supports the SUSHI protocol. For information on SUSHI harvesting, Intota users click here; Client Center users click here.
