360 Counter and Intota: Data Retrieval Service (DRS) and Providers Requiring Two-Factor Authentication
- Product: 360 Counter
I want the Data Retrieval Service (DRS) to download usage reports from a provider whose administrative site requires two-factor authentication, what are my options?
May 18, 2017 Update: Added Canadian Science Publishing.
A number of providers have implemented two-factor authentication in order to download COUNTER reports from their platforms. We have encountered mobile two-factor authentication when trying to access some COUNTER reports. That is, the platform asks for a mobile phone number in order to send a text message with a temporary key or code that the user has to input in order to access reports.
ProQuest cannot provide Administration-Based Harvesting for providers that have implemented two-factor authentication because the mobile phone number is unique to the user account, and we cannot retrieve the key or code that the provider sends.
