Main Features
Hide Pickup Location Field for Digital Resource Sharing Requests
CERV Enhancement (ID#8562) URM-316507Institutions now have the option to hide the Pickup Location field for the Digital Resource Sharing Request form and the Blank Resource Sharing Request Form (Digital format). This reduces confusion when no physical pickup location is required. The parameters for this option are configured in Configuration > Fulfillment > General > Other Settings.
For Primo VE and NDE (Next Discovery Experience):
- rs_hide_pickup_location_for_digital — When set to true, the Pickup location field is hidden for digital requests.
- rs_default_pickup_location_when_hide — Defines the default pickup location when the field is hidden.
For Rapido Digital Requests:
- For NDE, the Pickup Location field is already hidden for Rapido digital request offers. If rs_default_pickup_location_when_hide is configured, this configuration is applied when assigning the default pickup location.

A New Role to Configure Temporary Inactive Resource Sharing Library
Idea ExchangeThe new Temporary Inactive Resource Sharing Library option is available to designated library staff with the Fulfillment Services Manager and Fulfillment Administrator. It can be enabled for Fulfillment Operator roles via a support ticket. Staff with these roles can set the library temporarily inactive for lending by adding an Inactive Date Range (Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Temporary Inactive Date Ranges). This gives libraries greater flexibility in managing their lending services and reduces the administrative workload associated with managing temporary closures.
New Partners Fields in Resource Sharing Partner Record

Additional fields have been added to the Resource Sharing Partner record (Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Partners) to enable further customization. The following fields have been added:
- Alternate Account Number — a free text field that, in addition to an alternate symbol, allows for additional information to be stored on the partner record.
- Account Allowances — populated by customizable drop down options. Multiple selections can be made to designate additional partner information.
- Sector — populated by customizable drop down options to allow for additional information to be stored on the partner record.
- Send Communications Allowed — A yes/no value. Some libraries may want to note if marketing materials can be delivered to partners.
- Organization Type — populated by customizable drop down options to allow for additional information to be stored on the partner record.

Location Level Best Copy for Fulfilling a Request

Currently, transit time rules are used to define both the transit time for items and to determine which is the closest (preferred) item for fulfilling the request. Until now, the transit time was defined at the library level. It is now possible to use the Transit Time rules to also determine the best copy for a request based on its location within the library. A new checkbox Do not use for Transit Time Calculation enables selection by location, allowing libraries to define transit times for specific storage areas and prioritize locations. This provides more precise control over which copy is chosen for both patron and lending requests.

New Notes in Deliver Digital Documents Page
NERS Enhancement (ID #7472) URM-318032It is now possible to add two new notes, Internal note and Note to partner, when using the Deliver Digital Documents to fulfill a document delivery request. This improves the communication with borrowers and the ability to record internal information when supplying a document delivery service. The notes are not communicated to RapidILL partners.
Prioritizing Locations for Fulfilling Digitization Request

It is now possible to assign a digitization priority level to a location. Lending requests may be fulfilled by different copies from different locations, adding efficiency and accuracy to the digitization process. When libraries have physical holdings in multiple locations, the library may prefer to lend from some locations over others. When multiple copies exist for a title requested for digitization or Ship Digitally, locations can now be prioritized through an optional setting. This way, lenders can use automations to support lending from preferred locations, adding efficiency and accuracy to the digitization process.
New Input and Output Parameters for Shipping Cost Lender Rules

You can now configure additional input parameters to refine shipping cost rules. The new input parameters are:
- Location of supplied item
- Organization Type from the partner record
- Material Type of supplied item
- Shipping Country from the partner record
- Currency from the partner record or resource sharing library (see Currency Handling)
A new VAT output parameter allows applying VAT charges when needed.
Additionally, when an institution configures shipping cost lender rules with an input parameter that relates to an item (such as Location or Material Type), the shipping cost cannot be calculated immediately when the screen loads, because the item has not yet been selected. For additional clarity, Rapido now displays an information icon (i) next to the Shipping Cost field. Selecting this icon displays a message The Shipping cost will be calculated after the item is selected. This enhancement improves transparency and helps staff understand when and how shipping costs are determined during the lending workflow.

Shipping Items Without a Barcode

It is now possible to ship items that do not have barcodes. Previously, shipping an item required a barcode. Now, Rapido supports shipping items using their Item ID when a barcode is not available.
Temporarily Disable Lending for Different Formats

Lenders now have the ability to selectively disable specific lending services rather than disabling all services. Previously, lenders could only disable all lending operations at once. Now they can decide whether to disable Everything or just certain types, temporarily disable Physical lending while keeping digital services active, or temporarily disable Digital from Physical lending while continuing physical shipping or electronic lending.
This provides lenders with more flexibility to handle temporary disruptions without having to fully stop their lending services.

New fields, Partner Account Allowances, Partner Sectors and Partner Organization Type, are available for recording additional information on resource sharing partner records. Libraries can report on partner information to evaluate their resource-sharing service, including fill rates, volume, charges, and request types, in relation to partner parameters.For more information, see Customizing Partner Fields.

Rapido introduced interim changes in March to prepare for enhanced specific‑edition handling in an upcoming release. The specific edition checkbox is no longer automatically selected for manually created requests, and Rapido form submissions no longer assume that the requester is only seeking that edition during the locate process. These changes reduce unnecessary routing into the upcoming specific‑edition workflow. - March 2026 Fulfillment and Resource Sharing URM-198624
A new View locate History action is now available for Borrowing Requests. This action shows the job information for the last locate job that ran for the request when the request partners are peer-to-peer ISO Alma resource sharing partners, allowing customers to review the locate report and understand why the locate passed or failed. The log opens in a sliding pane and is filtered to show only the locate jobs related to that request. The shipping screen for physical items now displays the request title in addition to the External ID. This helps staff confirm they are shipping the correct item before completing the process. - January 2026 Analytics and Insights URM-253136
The field Rapido Manual Request has been added to the Rapido Attributes folder in the Lending Request (Resource Sharing) and Borrowing Request (Resource Sharing) Subject Areas. This field indicates when staff manually send a request to a Rapido partner under Rapido pod terms. It is useful for tracking frequency overall, by partner, or in comparison to mediated/unmediated requests.For more information, see Borrowing Requests (Resource Sharing) and Lending Requests (Resource Sharing).

New Fields have been added to both borrowing and lending requests.- Tracking Number field for communicating a value to partners is now available in the request attributes section of borrowing and lending requests.
- VAT and Total Cost fields; Rapido requests now include a VAT field and an automatically calculated Total Cost field within the request cost section.
- Tracking number and VAT fields are also available in the borrowing and lending APIs.
- Currency handling within the Request Cost section can now reflect the partner's currency. Currently, the currency reflected in Request Cost is defined in Configuration Menu > Acquisitions > General > Currency Subset. To have the request cost reflect in the partner's currency, configure (Configuration > Fulfillment > General > Other Settings) rs_use_partner_currency to true. The default value is false. If rs_use_partner_currency is set to true and the request cost field is populated, the currency value changes to reflect the value of the currency defined on the General Information tab of the partner (Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Partners).

For libraries that have enabled the Next Discovery Experience (NDE), there is now the option to completely hide the Get it from other locations section when display logic rules use hide service, and no results with offers are available.
