    Cloud Apps

    This session will show how Cloud Apps can add new features beyond core Ex Libris functionality, integrate with other systems, and provide shortcuts and efficiencies for institution-specific workflows.  

    In a live demo, we will look at both recently created Cloud Apps as well as Cloud Apps that have existed for several years.

    Linked Data Functionality in Alma

    This session will present how Linked Data can: 

    • Enhance search results and make resources easier to find; 

    • Be incorporated into online content relatively easily using well-known vocabularies; and 

    • Provide an open interactive system, with external links and the ability to make information easily accessible, re-usable and with the possibility of serendipitous discovery of other resources. 

    This session will also demonstrate existing functionality regarding Linked Data in Alma, including: 

    • Viewing the Linked Data in Alma; 

    • Extracting Linked Data from Alma via general publishing profile; and 

    • Extracting Linked Data from Alma via APIs 

    Finally, we will also look at examples of Linked Data in Primo discovery interface with examples from Alma institutions.

    Bulk Electronic Portfolio Management 

    In this session, you will learn techniques for maintaining your electronic resources, including making the same change to many different portfolios. We’ll also demonstrate how to use the portfolio loader to update your electronic collections. And you’ll see how to use the new feature supporting split coverage in the portfolio loader and portfolio export. This will be a hands-on session, and there will be time to try out these techniques in your Alma sandbox.

    Community Zone and Central Discovery Index: Two Systems with One Goal 

    Because the CZ and CDI contain related and complementary content but are used in different ways, this session will explore the different types of content in the CZ and the CDI, how the content is related, and how library staff and patrons interact with that information daily.

    New and Improved Alma Overlap Analysis Tool 

    This session will cover how to use Alma’s Overlap Analysis Tool to easily compare electronic collections. Those analyses can then be used to find savings through de-duplication, and assist purchasing new collections without duplicating current titles. We'll also demonstrate the new features that allow you to compare electronic resources with physical resources.

    Creating and Managing Analytics Objects in the New Alma User Interface 

    This session will present the major upgrade to how analytics reports are made available within Alma. We will include hands-on training in creating analytics objects for report “consumers” beyond the library as well as for those who use Alma.

    Creating and Managing Purchase Requests 

    We will learn how to manage purchase requests, whether they are submitted by patrons or staff, including how purchasing staff members can assess these requests and create Purchase Order Lines for approved resources.

    During this session, you will learn how to use Primo Studio to customize and test aspects of your Primo VE views.  Primo Studio can be used to change a view’s colors and images as well as to apply an Addon. We'll also review how to use the Customization Package Manager.

    This session will focus on how Alma, Primo, and CDI operate with each other, how availability is determined, and what you can do to control availability. We will also demonstrate the CDI Analysis Tool, and we will review some common issues and how to troubleshoot them.

    Digital Fulfillment

    This session will cover how Digital Fulfillment in Alma (also known as "Patron Waitlist for Digital Resources") allows the institution to: 

    • Determine how many concurrent users can view a digital object; 

    • Control how long each user can view a digital object; and 

    • Enable patrons to join a "waitlist" to view a digital object at a later period. 

    This session will demonstrate the configuration of Digital Fulfillment and show live workflows of its use.
