Go VE is a self-switch process that guides you through the move from Primo to Primo VE. For more information, see Go VE: Overview.

We encourage you to follow this document throughout the move to help manage your progress and to make sure that you have access to all the information you need to complete each step.

    Starting with Go VE

    • The availability of Go VE is dependent on your Alma instance and current Alma and Primo topologies. To determine the projected Go VE date for your institution and your topology in Primo VE, locate your current topology in Go VE: Self-Switch and Primo VE Topologies.

    • We encourage you to attend the upcoming Go VE Become an Expert Series webinars live. For details, see Ex Libris Education and Knowledge Webinars. If you cannot attend a live session, you can view the recorded sessions.

    Step 1: Enablement

    • Enable Primo VE to create the necessary components and start working with Primo VE. During this process, you will be asked to select which of your Primo views that you want to continue to use in Primo VE.

    • Use Process Tracking page (Configuration Menu > Discovery > Self-Switch Process) to track and indicate your progress. For more information, see Tracking the Self-Switch Process.

    Step 2: Authentication

    • Configure your authentication systems to allow Primo VE users to access restricted resources and services.

This step can be done in parallel with the data configuration areas in Step 3: Configuration.

    Step 3: Configuration

Adjust and enhance the discovery of your resources and services by using Primo VE tools. To help with the conversion of Primo configuration to Primo VE, we have provided guides for each functional area. For more information, see Go VE: Configuration Best Practices.
